Trane® continues to enhance homeowners’ indoor comfort experience with new products designed for simplified installation and exceptional performance.
At the International Builders Show (IBS) 2019 in February, Trane®’s theme was to provide comfort solutions for every home by supporting its homebuilder partners with products to optimize energy efficiency and comfort. “Our goal is to meet the unique and individual needs of today’s homebuyer,” says Scott Ewald, brand marketing manager. “To deliver on our core message, we showcase solutions that fit the need of energy efficiency, cost savings, carbon footprint or communicating technology. Conversely, we can focus on reliable solutions that fit comfortably within a budget for the more cost-conscious consumer.”
The Davidson, N.C.-based company offers America’s homebuilders products designed for optimized energy efficiency and occupant comfort. Trane stresses the importance of builders understanding the individual homeowners’ HVAC goals in order to customize a system suite to their needs.
Ewald encourages builders to “Take time to hear customers’ concerns and ask key questions such as how heavily do they rely on an HVAC system, are concerned about high energy bills during peak seasons, does anyone in the home suffer from allergies or asthma and would they benefit from remote access of their system through a cell phone or computer. Having an open and honest dialogue helps the builder determine aclient’s needs and provide an overall more satisfying buying experience.”
The Right Products
At IBS, Trane highlighted products with a focus on quality and performance, including the XV19 low-profile variable speed heat pump. Designed in response to a northwestern city’s noise ordinance, it gives builders and homeowners an ultra-quiet comfort solution. “We designed the XV19 low-profile heat pump specifically for this application,” Ewald adds. “It meets those stringent requirements by providing sound thresholds of 43 to 57 dBA, a SEER rating of up to 19.5 and HSPF of up to 12.”
Trane also debuted the GMU/V Series Air Handler designed to conserve space with flexible installation options that include mounting it on studs or over the hot water heater. “Consumers learning about our new products appreciate the attention to size, sound and overall efficiency in operation,” Ewald explains. “Homebuilders must meet not only their own needs in a build, but also fulfill their buyers’ wishes, as well. We help them navigate the world of HVAC as partners and deliver the highest level of comfort possible while keeping project budgets in mind.”
With more than 70 million people suffering from asthma and allergies in America, indoor air quality remains a major focus for homebuyers and homebuilders. Trane CleanEffects? is the only whole-home air cleaner to be certified by the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America. This solution has been available for several years, but remained one of the company’s top products at IBS this year.
“CleanEffects removes 99.98 percent of airborne particles so homeowners don’t have to breathe in those allergens,” Ewald notes. “It provides filtration that is eight times more effective than the best HEPA filters.” Moving forward, Trane will continue to provide quality solutions for homeowners through its builder partners with rigorously tested products from a brand they can trust. “We are extremely honored to once again be named America’s Most Trusted HVAC Brand through Lifestory Research,” Ewald says. “We put the homeowner at the center of our business and each step of our process – design, sales and installation.”
