LMD Companies

LMD Companies brings extensive professional expertise to New York’s Hudson Valley, while staying focused on delivering high-quality service.

There is so much history in New York State, and often that is reflected in the beautiful homes that have stood since early in our country’s history. LMD Companies is a New York-based builder, and understands the legacy in the area’s historic homes, which is why it is dedicated to integrity, quality, attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship on the new, luxury homes it builds. At the same time, LMD is focused on delivering positive experiences for the owners of the homes.

“LMD was founded by Luke Regier, Michael Meyers and Dave Stenger, three established Hudson Valley builders who joined forces in 2011 to form a new company with a depth and breadth of professional expertise not typically found at the local level,” says John Kuroda, sales manager. “With more than 75 years of construction and development experience among its principals, and a diverse portfolio of completed work, LMD Companies is expertly equipped to successfully execute any building project, and deeply committed to providing its clients with the highest-quality service.”

Based in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., LMD Companies caters to the Dutchess, Westchester and Fairfield counties of New York. The company is known as a custom homebuilder, but it also provides historic renovations, residential renovations and equestrian facilities. LMD comes to each project with more than 70 years of collective building experience, which includes more than 1,700 homes in 21 communities. It takes pride in its proven track record of success and satisfied clients. The company started by building single-family homes, but has expanded its offering to provide project management, commercial construction and property management.

“The principals are constantly on the job site, assuring themselves of the highest-possible quality and craftsmanship,” Kuroda explains. “Their team has worked together for years and the continuity makes the product better. In the end, the consumers benefit in the form of a superior product and streamlined processes.”

The company’s dedication to service involves working closely with its clients during the construction of their homes. “We engage the homeowners in the homebuilding process from the day we first meet until they get their keys,” Kuroda says. “We believe that an informed buyer will better understand and subsequently better enjoy the homebuying process.  We provide as much customization to the homes as they want, but explain how certain customizations increase cost or build time. We appreciate that a home purchase is one of the biggest decisions our customers will make and we provide them the time they need to feel comfortable.”

A Blend of Luxury and Value

A key example of the quality of LMD Companies’ work is its Sleight Farm at LaGrange community in the heart of New York’s Hudson Valley. The community is comprised of three neighborhoods:

  • The Meadows has homes that line a quiet cul-de-sac, for buyers who are looking for the quintessential small-town lifestyle.
  • The Ridges offers larger homes with mountain views for those who want further luxury.
  • Dawson Court has the community’s largest and most-private lots on a wooded cul-de-sac.

The company has sold more than one-third of the approximately 90 lots that are located throughout the three Sleight Farm neighborhoods. LMD offers 10 different base models at the community, and three of them have already sold out. As with all of its communities, the company offers a high level of standard features in each home, but buyers are able to use LMD’s variety of selections to customize the homes to their individual preferences and needs. LMD notes the community has been designed to provide privacy and convenience to the area’s local amenities and resources.

“Sleight Farm showcases how responsive LMD is to the needs and wants of its buyers,” Kuroda says. “Situated in the heart of the Hudson Valley, with highly sought-after Arlington Schools, Sleight Farm has appealed to local families and commuters to New York City. It is a superb blend of luxury and value, building the homes that homeowners want and can afford.

“Through elimination of community amenities and a homeowner’s association, LMD was able to create greater value and provide more house at a more competitive price,” he continues. “LMD has hosted multiple neighborhood events, fostering a sense of community that has blossomed into offshoot neighborhood events with LMD sponsorship. Beyond the typical quality construction, this community boasts some of the best views in the Hudson Valley.”

The Sleight Farm community includes the original, restored Sleight Farm House, and features more than 150 acres of preserved conservation land throughout the community.

“The next phase of Sleight Farm, the Glens at Sleight Farm, will open for sales in Spring of 2019,” Kuroda adds. “Building on the successes of Sleight Farm, LMD is further responding to the needs of the housing market. Incorporating repeated requests for walkability and single-story homes, LMD is designing a subdivision with a village feel and is investing in a sidewalk district and lighting district. LMD is also looking to introduce a price point that even better meets the needs of the housing market.”

LMD sees a lack of inventory for the first-time buyer, but also more demand from families who want to downsize and have single-floor living. The company is responding by adding more sidewalks in its communities, as well as creating multiple home designs that either have a master bedroom on the first floor or are entirely single-floor homes.

“LMD is continuously looking to find new ways to create value for the housing market,” Kuroda says. “LMD excels at evaluating the needs of the market and responding with a value proposition that keeps its customers satisfied.”
